Para Bellum Weymouth embodies the spirit and camaraderie found in CrossFit boxes and Gyms across the UK. It is a 2 day team event that will push teams to work with each other and be the best they can be, whilst competing against other like minded groups of individuals. It is a test of fitness and teamwork.
All teams are made up of 4 individuals. There are 3 options for your teams; mixed (comprising 2 men and 2 women), all men or all women. Over the weekend, each team will take part in 7 variable events with an 8th event as a final for the top 10 teams. Workouts will test functional fitness in a mixture of synchronised movements for all 4 members, paired and individual elements; all 4 team members must participate in all workouts. This competition is suitable for all ability levels providing each individual is able to complete all of the movement standards as set out in the ‘movement standards’ document below. In 2020 there will be a maximum of 100 teams.
Where is it?
The venue is possibly one of the most stunning outdoor spaces out there, with the main competition arena sitting on the bustling Weymouth beach. On one side there is an amazing Georgian backdrop and on the other side, the spectacular Jurassic Coast looms across the water. Weymouth town will provide additional spectator and crowd support throughout the weekend and the nearby cafes, restaurants, bars and shops are perfect for both teams and teams’ support crews. There is a range of accommodation types to suit all budgets within the town. There will also be an event off site which will incorporate the amazing Jurassic Coastline.
What can you expect?
Although 2020 will be the events first year, we have been organising events for almost 20 years, including IRONMAN 70.3 Weymouth and the Weymouth half marathon. Check out the About Us link to find out more about who we are, our ethos and our event experience. Take a look at the event features below to find out more about what your event entry gets you.
Looking for an extra incentive?
In 2020 we are partnering with a local Hospice charity – Weldmar, who provide much needed care for end of life patients. If any teams would like to support our official charity, we would love you to raise some funds for them. As an extra incentive, if your team raises over £600 (£150 each) you will be refunded your entire entry fee, so you get to compete for free. #dogoodfeelgood
