Dear Runner,
We hope that you, your family, loved ones and friends have been safe throughout what has been a very difficult and testing 2020 and 2021. We, like most, have been following the developments within the UK from a public health and an easing of lockdown perspective. We have been feeling optimistic as 2021 has been progressing about the future of events, in particular the Weymouth Half Marathon.
We have today been told from the Chair of the Safety Advisory Group that we can continue to move ahead with this event on the 13th June as planned.
As always we will continue to plan and operate within the current national and local guidelines that will be prevalent at the time and work closely with all of our key stakeholders. We are waiting for final confirmation from the SAG regarding our Covid specific plans and risk assessments before we share how this will affect the ‘normal’ running of the event.
What now:
- To recap – under the current situation, the Weymouth Half Marathon will go ahead on the 13th June 2021.
- We will write to you during the next couple of weeks with more event specific information and how the event will be affected with the covid plans.
- Those who have not been sent numbers can start to expect them from the week beginning 24th May 2021.
